For iPhone users:
As an iPhone user, you can use the Passcode Lock feature to add an extra layer protection for your device. Once this feature is enabled, you’ll need to enter a 4-digit password to access your iPhone and its data. This is especially helpful if your iPhone get lost or stolen.
Step 1. Click the Home button to bring up the main menu, and then select Settings.
Step 2. Click the General on the Settings screen, and then click Passcode Lock on the next window.
Step 3. The Set Passcode screen will open. Here you can enter a memorable 4-figure code, and then enter it again when prompted.
Step 4. You will now be at the Passcode Lock screen. You can change when you are prompted to enter the Passcode. The default setting – Immediately – means you will be asked to enter it as soon as your start using the iPhone. But you can change the setting so that the prompt appears after a certain period of use.
Step 5. Press the Home button to return to the main menu.
For Android Users:
When it comes to Android phones, you can lock screen with a pattern, PIN, or password.
Step 1. Press the Home button, select the Menu button >> Tap “Settings” >> tap “Security” to open a security options menu.
Step 2. Tap “Screen Lock” or “Set Up Screen Lock” to change your phone’s password settings. The exact wording will change depending on your model of Android phone.
Step 3.Tap “Pin/Passcode lock” in the menu. Type the password that you’d like to use to secure your Android. Tap the check mark to continue.
Step 4. Type the password again, and then tap the check mark again to activate your Android’s password lock.
